'Such In' - dian

The man wears the hearts of more than a billion Indians on his sleeve.. Sachin! Words seem less for this little pack of dynamite. Just when every other cricketer of his age is planning retirement, or has already been put to rest, this little wonder is raring to go. Shrugged off by many as down and out in the middle of his career has resurged to silence his critics by the sheer artful play that he possesses.

Sachin is a man of few words and much aplomb. Exceptionally cool and composed. Shane warne's quote "I dread bowling to him" says a lot about the aura he carried into the field. A man who never stopped ripping apart the opposition in the toughest of the situations. Sachin, the god as he is termed goes perfectly with his current state of persona. God is perfect and so is he!

India boasts of producing a son like him but are we doing enough to keep his santity intact? Bal thakeray has even gone on saying that he does not play for India but Mumbai, the maestro differs. Sachin has many interpretations to him: Such - In(dian), Sach(true)In(Indian),Such-In(Innings).. its all in the name. Not just an icon but a perfect example of humbleness, perfectionism and might! Hats off Sir Sachin tendulkar.

Strangulated!

If morning gives you jitters, and makes you regret where you are stepping out for.. you're not in the right job. What you are doing, isn't something you are meant for! You emotions revolve around your head through the day and you try to imagine your purpose for being at a certain place.

There have been lessons taught to be 'a man of your own will' 'be what you wanna be' .. where the !@#%^$ is the option. I is a forgotten word anymore, what you are meant to be remembered is: please, excuseme,SORRY,may I etc. Ridiculous as it sounds to one's self, is even more to others. Peers would look down upon you as a looser, a non-master of will and a stranded-in-the-middle of nowhere man. Given the fact that you started off with a thought of possessing a luxury car by the end of 2010, you are pondering over the thought of pushing the deadline to at least 20 more 'struggling' years.

Cheating, ideas, betrayals, denials are a family of emotions erupting just when you think of a suicide.. or in some cases a little less. Solace is a word which seems so meaningless. Where does that live?(solace). This is when the bravado is the emotion which takes over. Ever heard of a bruise going numb after being repeatedly hit on! The experience is the same.

No one is following his heart except the ones who got lucky without their knowledge or choice of being in the right place. Only one question would revolutionize the way you are thinking at the moment. Are you content? Is this where you belong?

KRK versus SRK!

Few great heroes emerge in a decade, and this decade its Deshdrohi, Our very own KRK. Let’s compare the ‘superstar’ in the making to already a superstar SRK.

Both have attitude
Both wear clothes different from others
Both make a statement and it’s remembered for life
Both are action plus romantic heroes
Both pick up sensitive issues
Both wear leather jacket
Both sport shades when appearing publicly
Both started their career on TV
Both can shake the world, one by stupidity other by class
Both can speak against Amitabh Bachchan
Both live lavishly
Both order their water from France, Food from Hongkong etc
Both are daring
Both make waves when a film is about to be launched(with them in the lead)
Both need guards to step out(KRK needs to shield himself from Navnirman Sena)

Now we know where is KRK heading. Autographs anyone!

T20 worth it?

Lalit Modi must be having sleepless nights due to the craze of T20 cricket fading off. That ain’t half as popular anymore and folks have already started choosing soaps and movies over T20 tournament.

The latest edition to it has been Champions’ league which hasn’t been such a great success and organizers are having a tough time dealing with the enormous pressure building up from sponsors and others.

Let me pass on some shocking facts here:

“Though average ratings for Champions Trophy were a modest 1.1, the Champions League has fared even worse with an average of 0.74 so far, according to TV monitoring agency aMap” – Times of India Oct’ 13, 2009

Not just the viewership but the participation would significantly fall since players are increasingly experiencing fatigue and overuse already due to the fast paced format. Stakes are high and expectations enormous and hence the game asks for more, more from each one of them.

The people benefitting from it are the businessmen such as Shahrukh khan the first one to be the best of them all, since he is raking maximum profits out of his team failing in the IPL and there are others like Mr. Mallya who always keeps a sharp eye on the selection of players and the ‘cheerleaders’!

Sachin like players are expected to play a 20 over match, with as much agility as a 20 yr old. What do you expect out of an old legend who is still trying to hold the ground while keeping his country to the fore.

In my opinion, it needs to have an age bar and the stakes need to go down since the only community benefitting out of it is that of businessmen. Talent is loosing identity, and players are gearing up for a better bid than a better game.

Mumbai conquered !! Feels bad ??

This is a time when India needs to stand up and fight terrorism as a whole. If we still feel that we can rely on NSG and cops to arrive and save our lives, trust me it ain’t a wise thing to do.

Mumbai has witnessed one of the worst massacres yet and bloody hell.. !! what was Mr. RG Verma doing there. Nation has witnessed the first incident of terror tourism soon after the blasts occurred. Are we yet to discover out identity or are we playing around with our lives. Before accusing politicians or diplomats we need to find out the man in ourselves to fight back. We need to realize that the terrorists are not man made robots they are people amongst us and we would only be deceiving ourselves by blaming the system and administration. 5 locals have been reportedly involved with the self-tell-tale incident of Mumbai blasts. Such a disaster !! Pakistan or USA are the countries to fall after India in the priority list of Indians and therefore the constant bickering and backbiters within the country should be hanged first. Who has authorized Raj thakeray to decide the fate of India? Congress has made a strong statement by asking resignations from the ‘respectable parliamentarians’ but what purpose does it serve now. When are we going to open our eyes to the terror that exists within the society?

The verdict that had the security acted, had it been this and that makes no sense until we have a mechanism to drive India to a level whereupon nobody dares to think ill health for the nation. Why hasn’t America been subjected to global terrorism since 9/11? What measures have they taken to make their boundaries secure? The politicians who appear in front of the media the very next day, are only baking their cakes on the already heated oven. My urge to all is that stop acting like a fool if you consider this your own nation as you are the ones who would make things happen, you can overturn the terror boat by your own efforts. Each one of us have to stop putting the onus to the other. STAND UP AND FIGHT !! fight for your own and others, only then can you expect others to help you and fight for you too..

Earth's drowning - calling out for help

Picture this - a wave 700 feet high is approaching you and you know that you have nowhere to run nor can you do anything about your children who you would see drowning while you are loosing your breath under water.

This is not an excerpt from a sci-fi but a reality which one and all might have to face if the global warming would stay an ignored topic for a long time.

Direct manifestations of a widespread and long-term trend toward warmer global temperatures

· Heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather

· Ocean warming, sea-level rise and coastal flooding

· Glaciers melting

· Arctic and Antarctic warming

Events that foreshadow the types of impacts likely to become more frequent and widespread with continued warming.

· Spreading disease

· Earlier spring arrival

· Plant and animal range shifts and population changes

· Coral reef bleaching

· Downpours, heavy snowfalls, and flooding

· Droughts and fires

Most of the consequences of global warming would result from one of three physical changes: sea level rise, higher local temperatures, and changes in rainfall patterns. Sea level is generally expected to rise 18 to 59 cm (7.1 to 23.2 inches) by the end of the 21st century.

Over the course of the 20th century, evaporation rates have reduced worldwide; this is thought by many to be explained by global dimming. As the climate grows warmer and the causes of global dimming are reduced, evaporation will increase due to warmer oceans. Because the world is a closed system this will cause heavier rainfall, with more erosion. This erosion, in turn, can in vulnerable tropical areas (especially in Africa) lead to desertification. On the other hand, in other areas, increased rainfall lead to growth of forests in dry desert areas.

In the northern hemisphere, the southern part of the Arctic region (home to 4,000,000 people) has experienced a temperature rise of 1 °C to 3 °C (1.8 °F to 5.4 °F) over the last 50 years. Canada, Alaska and Russia are experiencing initial melting of permafrost. This may disrupt ecosystems and by increasing bacterial activity in the soil lead to these areas becoming carbon sources instead of carbon sinks . A study (published in Science) of changes to eastern Siberia's permafrost suggests that it is gradually disappearing in the southern regions, leading to the loss of nearly 11% of Siberia's nearly 11,000 lakes since 1971.

In historic times, glaciers grew during a cool period from about 1550 to 1850 known as the Little Ice Age. Subsequently, until about 1940, glaciers around the world retreated as the climate warmed. Glacier retreat declined and reversed in many cases from 1950 to 1980 as a slight global cooling occurred. Since 1980, glacier retreat has become increasingly rapid and ubiquitous, and has threatened the existence of many of the glaciers of the world. This process has increased markedly since 1995.

These trends denotes a badly dipping graph of life on earth. Are we only helping the humanity by eliminating it from the face of earth. This may horrify you but we may just have about 50 years before we could actually realize that its too late to act.

Our grandchildren deserve a place to live in. Think about it ..

Life in a metro ...

Everything has become so damn busy with the metros that only a few would think of stepping out and meeting their counterparts, family or friends. Talking of this I would like to highlight a few activities of an individual living in the ‘upmarket’ cities. The basic requirement a home with parking space, power back up and healthy water supply, which isn’t basic anymore. I happen to live in Delhi and could tell from my observation that men have transformed into robots working the hell out of their lives.

Robotic regimes have given rise to a number of problems in the urban man. He used to extract a little time for the family which is pretty much going missing in him anymore. He could take a stroll down the lane of his house he can’t afford to do that as the next morning’s schedule would all be chaotic. He could think of catching up on the player in him but can he afford to do that while his bills are still unpaid and he has to deposit that while on his way to the office. The wives, the distressed lot have their own share of problems which would comprise of no time from the husband, shopping alone and although hidden but darker side of it attraction towards someone more ‘free to talk’. The social and personal relations are at stake with such monotonous lifestyles being followed unwillingly by the people living in the more educated section of the society.

Competition amongst the folks, peers, friends is a definite reason why everyone is running towards swallowing the sun. Our very own society would write off a person if he ain’t too good with the academics. Give me a break, not everyone is a Newton !! there has to be a line between expectations and realities. This Urban man or Ubersexuals, Metrosexuals etc. are the end products of the brought up they’ve been through and they dread being termed a looser. They were never taught to loose in their life how could they now. As soon as a child is born he is looked upon as a warrior or some reincarnation of god who would rescue the parents. Who are we befooling, ourselves? The child has come to the world and hasn’t even opened his eyes to the world. Let him decide what he has to do what has he got to achieve.

My message goes out to all the people who are ‘wanna be super parents’ because doing this is spoiling their own as well as their children’s life and while trying to win the race they are wearing their feet. The pain is experienced only when all’s over and then you tend to realise that driving at an average speed would have reaped you better benefits because the fuel would have lasted longer.
